  63. AM-Tax is a copyrighted ((C) 1985 - 1988) property of AM SOFTWARE.  It is not in
  64. the public domain and it is not free.
  65.  
  66. There are three versions of AM-Tax.  The "shareware" version prepares a
  67. complete tax return consisting of Form 1040 and Schedules A, B, C, D, E, F, R,
  68. and SE.  All of the supporting schedules print in a format that can be filed
  69. directly with the IRS.  This version also prints directly onto special pin-fed
  70. tax forms and supports tax form overlays (read section 9).
  71.  
  72. The "regular" AM-Tax version does all of the above.  It also supports Forms
  73. 2119, 2210, 2441, 3903, 4136, 4562, 6251, 8598, and 8615 and prints an IRS-
  74. approved version of the Form 1040 on most Epson and IBM-compatible dot-matrix
  75. printers (new for 1988).
  76.  
  77. The "advanced" AM-Tax version is new for 1988.  It includes all of the
  78. "regular" AM-Tax features plus it supports even more forms (3800, 4137, 4255,
  79. 4684, 8582, and 1040ES).  It also prints an exact replica of the Form 1040 on
  80. Hewlett-Packard compatible laser printers (special tax fonts are required).
  81. The advanced version is distributed on two diskettes and requires 320K and a
  82. hard drive to execute.

  84. An electronic filing option is also available with the advanced version at
  85. an extra cost.
  86.  
  87. Non-registered users are granted a limited license to use the shareware version
  88. of AM-Tax on a trial basis to determine if it meets their tax preparation
  89. needs. However, if you use AM-Tax to organize, draft, or prepare your tax
  90. return or to prepare tax returns for others, you are trusted to register your
  91. use of the program.  Registration includes telephone support and annual updates
  92. at a very modest cost.

  94. All users (including electronic bulletin board sysops, user group librarians,
  95. and public domain or shareware distributors) are granted permission to copy the
  96. SHAREWARE version of AM-Tax for the trial use of others subject to the
  97. following conditions:
  98.  
  99.    o  AM-Tax must be copied in unmodified form, complete with the file
  100.       containing this registration information and documentation.
  101.  
  102.    o  Except for a small fee to cover the cost of copying and handling
  103.       (under $10), no other cost or compensation may be associated with
  104.       the distribution of AM-Tax.  If a fee is charged, the distributor
  105.       must inform the recipients that this fee does not meet their
  106.       registration responsibilities.
  107.  
  108.    o  AM-Tax may not be distributed in conjunction with any other product
  109.       without the written consent of AM SOFTWARE.
  110.  
  111. Under no circumstances, may the registered versions (regular or advanced)
  112. be copied for the use of others.
  113.  
  114. Registration is available in three convenient options.  Registration-only ($20)
  115. acknowledges your use of AM-Tax for your 1988 tax preparation and entitles you
  116. to future updates.  Other options provide the full disk and bound manual for
  117. either the regular ($45) or advanced ($60) AM-Tax.
